Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin supporting the Roadmap to End Global Hunger

Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin (photo courtesy house.gov)Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin is the latest member of the House of Representatives to show support for the Roadmap to End Global Hunger legislation (H.R. 2817). There are now 28 representatives co-sponsoring the bill.

The Roadmap legislation seeks to establish a White House office on global hunger to more effectively coordinate various U.S. government agencies. A number of organizations including Save the Children, World Vision, Catholic Relief Services, the Friends of the World Food Program and Mercy Corps made recommendations that formed the Roadmap bill.

The ultimate goal of the bill is to make global hunger a top priority for the Obama administration. With a White House office on global hunger a more coordinated strategy can be implemented to deal with the crisis that now impacts over 1 billion people worldwide. Afghanistan, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Somalia are some of the many countries where the population suffers from hunger and malnutrition.

Representative Jim McGovern of Massachusetts introduced the Roadmap bill earlier this year. Here is a list of members of the House of Representatives co-sponsoring H.R. 2817, the Roadmap to End Global Hunger:

How about trying to end hunger and unemployment in Wisconsin before taking on the whole world. This woman is completely out of touch with her constituents. You were sent to Washington to represent the people of Wisconsin. Not your personal interests. Global hunger is not a realistic objective. Start locally and expand.

Tammy seems to be a little more concerned about what is going on in Uganda than Wisconsin. Perhaps she should run for office there so we can elect someone that cares about little things like jobs leaving the state of Wisconsin. She seems to care about everyone but the people that she is paid to represent, but that's okay she's a "Progressive." They shouldn't be held accountable, since they're better than everyone else.
