IWatchmake Tag Heuer will keep using Tiger in their ads
Tiger Woods is beginning to feel his personal life rip into his paychecks. Wood’s sponsors all need to take a look at their bottom line – do they want to keep throwing millions of dollars at a man who has taken an indefinite break from golf and who public life has become an ongoing joke?
The answers are varied: from yes to no to everything in-between. Here is a rundown of where Tiger’s sponsors stand right now ~
YES we love Tiger ~
Swiss watchmaker Tag Heuer, has publically stated they will keep him on their payroll.Tag Heuer company spokeswoman Mariam Sylla explained the company’s decision: "He's the best in his domain…we respect his performance in the sport.” Adding that Woods's personal problems are "not our business."
It may not be their business but will it affect people’s purchasing choices, especially when the watchmaker uses the tag line “What are you made of” with their Tiger ads?
YES AND NO on Tiger~
Gatorade announced it was discontinuing its Gatorade Tiger Focus drink but they are also stating the timing was purely coincidental as they had been planning it for months. They then added that their relationship with Tiger Woods would continue. It’s a bit of a question on how the relationship will continue since the product made during Wood’s peak performances couldn’t sell enough to be kept in production, how one made when he is embroiled in scandals and stepping away from professional golf can be expected to do well!
HANGING IN THERE FOR NOW with Tiger~
The video game maker Electronic Arts is standing by Tiger without speaking about their decision. But, it seems unlikely that they would dump Tiger as they produced the Tiger Woods PGA Tours 7-10
Nike is probably the one brand people associate Tiger Woods with the most. He is seldom seen without that famous swoosh on his hat, shirt, pants or jacket. Chances are Nike is taking a wait and see approach before cutting their ties with the number one golfer. If they dump him now, they would pay a lot more later to get him back!
DOESN’T LOOK GOOD for Tiger ~
AT&T has stopped running all of their ads which feature Tiger Woods at this point. They have not stated what their decision is regarding their sponsorship but since they are a family product, analysts are wedging their bets they will soon sever the relationship.
Gillette have also stopped running any of their ads with Woods in them. And like AT&T, odds are in the favor of Gillette dropping the world’s best golfer.
NO MORE Tiger ~
Accenture, the giant consulting firm, has severed its (6 year) ties with the golfer. The company stated that they felt Woods was “no longer the best representative” for them. Of course, had they kept him on, they would have had to revamp one of their campaign taglines: Go On. Be a Tiger

Yes, We love Tiger section...
I fail to see how the watch maker being Swiss has anything to do with the wife being Swedish - you do know they are not the same country, right?
Well done, it is hard to keep up with them all!
It's a hard call the man is an jerk but boy can he golf!
I think people have a VERY negative feeling when they hear his name and if I were a sponsor, I'd dump his cheating behind!
