Karl Rove was forced to leave his book signing last night after being shouted down by anti-war
protesters.
Rove was in Beverly Hills, California promoting his controversial book Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight. Approximately 100 people had paid $40 each to hear Rove speak and then get their copies signed.
In his book, Rove defends Mr. Bush and states that Saddam Hussein may have either destroyed most of his WMD stockpiles or moved them to other countries before the invasion.
While many in the March 29th audience were expecting to get their copies autographed, the book signing never took place.
The Former White House chief of staff was berated with comments during his talk that ranged from being called a liar to a war criminal to one woman claiming “The only comfort I take is that you're going to rot in hell."
One member of the audience headed up to Rove with a pair of handcuffs attempting to make a citizen’s arrest while yelling;
Look what you did ...
you lied to take us to war.
You ruined a country.
You totally ruined a country.”
Rove reacted with some sophomoric responses including calling one person a “lunatic” and then ironically stating “they don't believe in First Amendment rights for anyone but themselves.” When it was obvious there were a lot of people who disagreed with him, Rove ran away before signing any books. Maybe he went to see a movie: Green Zone would have been a good choice.

The fact he was part of it and then allowed to profit from it is unforgiveable!
Too bad they didn't get the citizen's arrest complete!
Are you a reporter, Kristy? Because the good j-school that I went to taught us that using the kind of terms and writing style you utilized were for high-school newspapers.
But I suppose it is your right under the First Amendment to say anything you want. Shameful that you do not want to allow others to have the same First Amendment rights that you do.
I have no respect for Rove, but I do have respect for our Constitution.
What's wrong joanie, don't they teach you to be as accurate as possible in j-school?
Joanie - you make NO sense! How does "Shameful that you do not want to allow others to have the same First Amendment rights that you do" even fit here?
The author pointed out that while trying to shut someone up Rove said they didn't believe in the 1st - that IS ironic!
She never said he could speek or write a book she simply pointed out what he was called and how he reacted - by running away!
And Rove should watch Green Zone - what they did was unforgivable!
LOVE this! What a jackass Rove is and to be a part of such a horrific thing that we all be paying for the rest to our lives and then make a profit on it all? Truth is both he and Bush should be tried as war criminals and there are others too
He ran like all the Republicans are doing - hiding behind idiots like Palin - while taking the party down step by step!
It's "Rove," not "Rowe."
Thanks Katherine but I'm pretty sure we all know that LOL
He is such a jerk - I can imagine anyone would pay to hear him - just seeing his picture makes me feel ill!

Yes, and I was. Not only that, but I was taught reading comprehension. Kristy obviously does not believe that Rove was entitled to free speech as guaranteed in our Constitution. Her choice of words such as "sophomoric" and "ran away" are not reportage but slant.
well joanie this is a comentary piece and even if it was a news article "sophomoric" and "ran away" are not facts - a grown man acting the way he did was sophomoric and he did run away!
"Kristy obviously does not believe that Rove was entitled to free speech as guaranteed in our Constitution." Joanie WHERE does she state that? She simply pointed out that when someone stated something to Rove he claimed THEY only believe in the 1st for themselves which was an ironic thing to say. But to take it that the author believes it is a big jump.
Want another big leap Joanie? Try thinking about the crap that is in Roves book without getting ill to realize this jerk is making money off it!
Rove is an idiot and its my guess he will be doing a lot of running away on this book tour!
I hope nobody buys his untrue book and I think him seeing Green zone would be a very good thing!!
Okay re-reas what I wrote and meant to say "sophomoric" and "ran away" ARE facts as they state what exactly happened!
Personally I find it a lot harder to imagin anyone would read the book or pay to see this creep more amazing than him fleeing the scene!
The world knows what happen and how that administration destroyed so many things why reward this guy, he should be in jail not making money off the people he screwed! How dumb is a person to buy this book?
The man and the book are pathetic! and the people who swollow his crap? EVEN WORSE!
Pompous, arrogant and a coward...yep, a proud member of the old boy Bush clan.
Agree with Cheryl - this guy is 100% Bush crap!!
