Actress Patricia Heaton is being sued by her former personal assistant, Jennifer Lee.

Lee has filed her suit against both Heaton and her husband, producer David Cook. The court papers start out:

The rich and famous are not above the law, and they are not granted any special immunities. Just like any other employer, the rich and famous must not retaliate against employees.

If the rich and famous wish to employ individuals to cater to their every need, they must also refrain from violating California's wage and hour laws."

Lee has listed 12 complaints ranging from unpaid wages to retaliation to wrongful termination in violation of three separate public policies. Lee is saying that Heaton and Cook owed her money ($7,425) and that she was fired soon after asking for those unpaid wages.

Jennifer Lee worked for the couple August 2007 to March of 2009 and has demanded a jury trial.
