The keynote speaker for the 2010 Conservative Political Action Conference
(CPAC) was syndicated radio and television host, Glenn Beck. With a speech that brought down the house at Saturday's finale of the three day conservative conference, Beck admitted that he didn't use teleprompters since his words were spoken from the heart. Beck was aided, however, by one piece of equipment-- his signature chalkboard.

Glenn Beck's address, which aired live and was re-broadcasted on C-Span, offered a wake-up call to Americans, Republicans, and most specifically to conservatives.

Following is a selection of the most memorable quotes from Glenn Beck's CPAC speech:

The hangover that comes from the 'disease' of progressivism

"People are losing the fundamental belief that it is going to be better tomorrow. Let me tell you now, it is still morning in America. It just happens to be kind of a head-pounding, hung-over, vomiting for four hours kind of a morning in America. And it's shaping up to be kind of a nasty day, but it's still morning in America."

Republicans and conservative ideas

"Dick Cheney was here a couple of days ago and I love Dick Cheney but... and he says it's going to be a good year for Conservative ideas. That's true... it's going to be a very good year, but it's not enough just to not suck as much as the other side."

"The first step to getting redemption is you've got to admit you got a problem. I have not heard people in the Republican party yet admit that they have a problem... [being] addicted to spending and big government."

40% of Americans consider themselves conservatives, 36% say they're moderates

"20% say their liberals. How are they making 76% feel like they're the minority? The majority does not rule in America. But the minority shouldn't hijack it."

Success in America

"We choose our own destiny. We choose. All men are created equal. All men will not end up equal. But all men are created equal. In our daily choices- that determines our outcome. In Cuba, Venezuela, in other beloved Marxist nations that do so well and yet I see no evidence of it, that choice is taken away from people. To restore America we need less Marx and more Madison."

Our God-given rights

"Not a single time have we gotten our rights from Congress or the President, we get them from God. And when He gives us those rights, He puts a warning bell inside of us. When somebody tries to take them, a warning bell goes off. And that's what America is feeling right now."

The poem from the Statue of Liberty

America's future

"I have been saying the worst is coming. I have been saying it for a while. But you will find the answers in history. It's the same story over and over again. We just need to learn our own history; learn from our own mistakes. Admit that we have a problem. Grow a spine and stand for the right things. Our future is not cast in stone. It does not have to be this way. It does not have to be that the greatest American generation is behind us! It does not have to be that our children will have a lower standard of living! It will be that way if we choose to believe that! I choose not to believe that!"

It was all great, but the zinger about Obama and the Nobel Prize was a VERY good line.

The reason why only 20% of Americans consider themselves liberals yet Democrats are in charge of everything is because Democrats are not particularly liberal. Margaret Thatcher of all international conservatives was adamantly pro-UHC and was no more pro-business than the Democrats. There is no liberal party in the United States--there's just a more liberal party.

I think Glenn Beck is a very genuine person.
