The DFW BI NET chapter is sponsoring a lecture from author and speaker, Robyn Ochs, this Sunday afternoon, September 27, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at the Resource Center Dallas, 2701 Reagan St in Dallas, TX. Her lecture is titled, "Understanding the B in LGBT", and following the lecture will be an open panel discussion/Q&A including President of Stonewall Democrats, Erin Moore.

Robyn Ochs has penned several essays and is the co-editor of the anthology, Getting Bi: Voices of Bisexuals Around the World. Now in it's second printing, it features first-hand accounts from bi-identified people ages 15 to 79. Ochs was also the editor of the Bisexual Resource Guide which had five editions printed between 1995 and 2001. The book is now out of print, however there are several other resources available on her website. She helped found the Boston Bisexual Network in 1983 and Bisexual Resource Center in 1985. The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force awarded Ochs in 2009 with the Susan J. Hyde Award for her longevity in the movement of bi-identified visibility.

Originally formed in 1990 and restructured in 2008 under the direction of Matt Goodman, DFW BI NET (also known as the Bisexual Network of North Texas) is a social and support group for bisexual, bi-curious and bi-friendly people in North Texas. DFW BI NET exists as a chapter under the umbrella of BI NET USA, based in Arlington, VA.
