Baby Gap (RED) t-shirts.
Have you logged onto your Facebook, Myspace, or Twitter account yet today? Perhaps you’ve seen the red ribbon scurry across the page on Yahoo, or the small ribbon on Google. Maybe you’ve seen Apple, Nike, Gap and Starbucks encouraging you to buy (RED) products, which benefit people with AIDS in Africa. This is all for today, World AIDS Day. Although many of these companies support this cause year round, today marks the day when the entire world stops and takes a few moments to spread awareness and focus on the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
When you log onto Twitter, their homepage has turned red for the day and encourages users to follow @JoinRED who spreads awareness and helps people and brands come together to help fight AIDS in Africa. You’ll notice that many of the day’s trending topics have to do with AIDS, HIV and World AIDS Day.
Facebook is encouraging users to help them turn red for the day. Become a fan of (RED) and change your profile picture to one of the (RED) icons provided. There is also a link to Nike’s “Lace Up, Save Lives” campaign. They are selling red shoelaces for $4 to help raise money and awareness.
You can also become a friend of (RED) on Myspace. The Myspace page also provides a (RED) holiday gift-giving guide. Great if you want to give a gift and help a great cause.
I want to know how you are being (RED) today. Have you found any other sites that have turned (RED)? Email me at kristi@indelible-inc.net and I will share your stories.
