Guerilla Gay Bar will hold their monthly event at Della Rose’s Tavern this Friday, December 4th starting at 9 p.m. This month’s Guerilla Gay Bar is also doubling as a fundraiser for Equality Maryland. Find the guys handing out the stickers and give them your donations that will help Equality Maryland fight for equal rights. Della Rose’s is located at the base of the First Mariner Tower at 1501 S. Clinton Street.
Attracting more than 400 people to their events Guerilla Gay Bar Baltimore (GGBB) aims to spread tolerance and understanding throughout the community. GGBB organizes outings for GLBT individuals and their straight friends for a fun night out on the first Friday of each month. A generally “straight” bar is chosen and taken over for the night by the GLBT community. It is a peaceful takeover and a great way to be out and proud as well as to meet new friends. Previous GGBB takeovers have been held successfully at establishments like Luckie’s Tavern at Power Plant Live, Bay Café, Max’s on Broadway and many others.
GGBB was founded in 2008 by Mark Yost and Byron Macfarlane. Ever since their first event, with an astounding 100 participants, the interest has exploded. Now over 400 people attend the monthly event and a Facebook group has formed with over 700 members. You can also find GGBB on Twitter. GGBB encourages diversity at all of its events.
