Chris Brown tells Wendy Williams that he loves women and is currently dating (video)

Jive 2009: Chris Brown's "Crawl"

Wendy Williams had Chris Brown on her talk-show to premiere the new video for “Crawl”, his new single, and to talk some more about the post-Rihanna 20/20 interview.

First, let’s talk about Wendy. Remember when she was not only hilarious but a tough, smart-mouth asking the very tough and nasty questions? Well, it seems that’s out the door. Perhaps television has made her soft (gotta make that money) or in this particular interview, she was more put together and professional. It is always uncomfortable to see Chris Brown doing interviews. The kid is talented, that cannot be taken away, but there is a big difference between a post-crazy Britney, or a drugged-out Lindsay, and Chris Brown post-domestic violence. The shame in all of this is that people are treating it the same.

Secondly, Chris Brown was his usual “ma’am” respectful (of course) twenty year-old, but there was still loads of “cool-aid” in his system, no anger management or community service seem to be doing anything to lessen that about him. Toward the end of the interview Wendy asked him if he was dating and he smirked saying “of course, I love women” as the crowd cheered. Outside of that creepy white guy in the audience with a grin on his face, it was hard not to feel genuinely saddened by the female audience drooling over Brown.

What did you think of the interview?

I'm so happy for him. People can throw as much salt as they want, but in the end, God has the last say so. I love and support Chris, and I hope he has continued success. Take advantage of the situation in the right way, and use it to help other boys and girls in the same situation. Don't regret what you did Chris, accept it, and learn from it. Make something positive out of the negative. Thats all us humans can do...

I'm sorry, there's a difference in between forgiving and making this douche think it's okay- that's the mentality (machismo) that allows domestic violence, death, and general abuse that keeps statistics high.

If he had served time or had a bigger scare, then he would have (perhaps) learned his lesson. Like they said in the interview he loves women, he gets to drink his 'fame cool-aid' and he'll keep the cycle up, and the next time he'll know better how to cover it up.

Think about it people, forgiveness is one thing, accepting incorrect behavior, is a different story.

If you all dont like Chris Brown then why do you continue to give him all this publicity? I just do not get it. Bad publicity is also good publicity. You have the choice of not even reading or writing about him but yet you find yourself doing both. Ask yourself why? You dont know a thing about him personally (only what you read) and he doesnt know you from Adam..so who is your negativity towards him benefitting? Seems like to me Chris is making a comeback to do what he loves to do best and that is making his music and there isnt anything you can do about it. I thought the interview was good. I dont know what you all expect for him to do. He is paying his due so build a bridge and get over it.

wwwwknot, get a damn life. Chris brown is back for ever!!!
Rhianna is just as "guilty", listen to her on 20/20. Now she needs to get back on 20/20 and tell the world what was her role in that fight, lol.

@Keish: writing about it/discussing it is not about "publicity" but about discussing pop culture/real life problems, like some punk 20yrold beating his gf to the pulp

@Cindy: if you (and Keish) are actually women, it's sad to hear what you are saying. Let's see if your next partner beats you how you'll feel. Yes, I'm sure Rihanna had part in the arguing (just like in every fight, there is more than one side) but to think that beating somebody senselessly is ok, just shows how ignorant people (you two apparently) can be.

If Rihanna, or any other woman, had beaten a man (which does happen) it would still not be right. So it's not about CB, but the stupid crap he did, and I'm sorry, you don't know him either, and it's all about opinions. I personally don't think he has learned his lesson.

So you keep your ignorant side, and I'll still think that beating somebody is archaic and not so easy to forget.

I personally think the interview was cool. Chris is using his past to correct his future. I think he is doing great. He will be carefull next time as he has seen the results of his actions. All he needs is love so he can move on and make good music and not people bent on distroying him. He has accepted and taken responsibility for his actions on that night. Please let the boy move on

Domestic Violence happens everyday. To so many couples. What Chris did was wrong, but he seems to me that he is really sorry and wants to do better. Why kick the guy when he is down, why not try to help him not do this again and support him. That doesn't mean condoning what he did, it means being a support system. We don't know the whole story, and we never will but he has owned up to it and I think people should let him live and see what happens. Everyone needs love, and so does He. Like I said, domestic violence happens so often, and it doesn't mean his mistakes need to go unnoticed i just means that they are making him the case for all domestic disputes.
No one knows what its like for him, bc unlike most people his mistakes and shortcoming get to play out for the public to give their opinion on. Domestic violence happens ALL the time, and those guys normally get far less punishment for numerous beatings.
I love you Chris. Keep your head up and keep learning.

Please, tell why no one is report that MS.rihanna hit this young man several times before he react per the police reports. She lied on the interview stating she did nothing but continue to pressure him about lying. Is okay for a woman to display Violence but not man. This young man is 19yrs old and everyone wants to take away this livelihood. Their are several stars who have continous display bad habits but no we separate the business from the person. EXAMPLE R-kelly, everyone knew he married Ms. A when she was 15 and he was a grown behind man. Leave this young man alone and let him get on with his life. Damn!!!

@Terry (and any of the others) you sound completely ignorant-
Not being okay with this situation is not "hating" or "being mean" or not giving "love", it's being realistic. If I had seen a picture of Chris Brown with a f***ed up face, then we are talking, but it happened the other way around. So, yeah, take the visual, even if she did hit him (which is not okay) LOOK AT HOW HE LEFT HER. Ignorance will allow that to keep happening. Popstars aside, you need to think of the thousands of women who are battered like this.

My aunt had her husband break her nose, the last one time he beat her so badly, and then when he was "redeemed" he felt so bad he paid for surgery to fix it. Then did it again. Is that okay? No.

It doesn't make him a good person either.
I'm not saying we need to condemn this dude, but c'mon, he was only 19, think of what he'll do when he's older.

Rihanna was right in the 20/20 interview, when you are so young and NO doesn't exist, nothing will stop you.

Booo, how many years does Chris need to stay away? When YOU make a serious mistake (because we are all imperfect), how long should you stay away? Who are you to tell someone to go away. Do your self a favor. NEVER SUPPORT HIM! I believe Chris will improve his life as long as he maintains faith in God and complies with his probation stipulations. To all the judgmental people, be careful what you wish for Chris because it may happen to you or your significant other. LIFE IS SO UNPREDICTABLE! MUCH LOVE CHRIS! MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!

All I can do for either Chris or Rihanna is to pray for them..they were both so young and "Equally Dangerous to Each Other" which led to Chris assaulting her on Feb. 8 to the point where she suffered bruising and bleeding.

As a person of faith, I believe in giving Chris another chance to learn and move forward with his life and career as long as he has fans and the resources to do so. I also know that if he does not learn from this test, God will repeatedly expose his shortcomings if he does not use this to bring him to a place of greater understanding and applicable wisdom.

In a sad way, this incident could a blessing in disguise for both of them to get a grip on reality...all that glitters isn't gold and nobody who makes money off of you can love you like sincere family.

why do ppl keep acting like chris brown invented violence, domestic or otherwise, he did not? and pls someone explain the point of this article, whats sickening is how many ppl dont want to see ths young man do better. chris is not arrogant never has been so of course he is going to be gracious and respectful to anyone giving him the time of day. i think some ppl need to just let it go already and move on. he's owned up to what he did, and its just too bad for those of you that dont like the punishment he received or the fact that he still has supporters. at the end of the day we came to love chris brown for his talent not his 20 year old personal life...enough already ggggeeeessshhhh.

I do not condone what he did. He was wrong for it and he realizes that. People need to forgive him and be there for moral support. I highly doubt if someone has a son or nephew who did the same thing chris brown did, just up and stop talking to him, or being there for him. People need to look at it from all angles. One more food for thought....isn't it funny how, Rihanna speaks out now that she has a cd coming out and she's a spokesperson for Covergirl??? But yet, you told the judge not to keep him from you??? Hmmm...

I agree with all the positive comments. No one who has posted a positive comment has once said out of their mouth that WHAT CHRIS BROWN DID WAS OKAY IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM! Haters are Chris Browns true motivators! Don't you get it. It's not that he hasn't learned his lesson, he's just trying to move on from this. Is he supposed to feel sorry for himself and keep his head down in shame forever? People like you sound to me like you want him to kill himself...DO YOU ALL CONDONE SUICIDE????? Probably now but you don't understand that all the negative comments can really set him into a depressive mode and depression normally leads to suicide. Think about these things! Rhianna has forgiven him already, so truly you bitter folks who keep pushing your personal domestic situations into theirs needs to stop because he has not done it again and you should think positive for him. Help him grow from this, not wait for him to fail! GOD Bless you Chris and I will be at the concert on Dec4th in DC!

@cee no, don't play the black card. *sighs*

It's because he's a talented, young and good-looking MAN. That's the only difference and that double standard (because now apparently he's hotter for "learning" and becoming a man, and Rihanna is a (as j3ssica put it) a "hoe" for getting beat up and talking about it) is what's got all of us in any race, gender, sexual orientation, in a very primitive stage.

    Peace y'all.

I cannot imagine going through what he has at the age of 19-20- many would have broke or committed suicide; the fact that he is still standing says alot about him. My support for him has never waivered. It is time for the public to move on from this incident.

Not why you are comparing the Britney and Lindsay stuff to Chris - ?? They are both more screwed up than he is - he just snapped because he had a girlfriend push him to the brink. And what's the deal with the "kool-aid" reference in your article?? Are you saying he's still arrogant - and they are both saying that's what he is learning not be be? He seemed pretty humble to me.

Nice interview. I like how Chris is responding to Rihanna's milking of the story by telling SOME details. Without falling in the he-said she-said trap, he's saying all he can due is own up to "HIS" part in it - implying that she is not owning up to HERS. And its great he's now saying he's dating. I think he's ticked off at Ms. Princess for her bogus interview. Go boy, move on!

  • chianne 2 years ago

My last comment doesn't read well (it was 1:00 am). I'm saying that Rihanna supposedly 'revealed details' - but only what SHE (i.e. her PR people) wanted to reveal. Chris is ticked off, seems to be saying, well "I've owned up to MY part in it." And she should own up to her part (not "it escalated") - but hey, why bother? She has the world on her side, and her "empire" to worry about (see 20/20 interview). I think CHris Brown comes out of this much the better person. I admire him even more now.
