A few of my favorite skin and makeup things.
After years of bad makeup mishaps and battling acne, I now know the secret of flawless skin and makeup techniques. It pains me to see people walk around with the eyesore of acne scars and face blemishes or wearing makeup that look caked on, the wrong color and acne scars and blemishes shown through their makeup. Don’t fret, I’m here to save you from the pain and embarrassment. First, take care of yourself from within and it will surely show on the outside. No matter if you are Man or Women, we all need an everyday skin regimen.
I know this may hurt but stop eating so much fried food. Too much fried food clog your arteries and most fried food is cooked in harmful fat and oil. Discipline yourself to eat more vegetables, baked and grilled delicious foods, fruit, drink more water and have a daily skin regimen. Do yourself a favor and research Flaxseed Oil and/or Fish Oil Pills. Both promote healthy skin, teeth and nails. For the acne prone: Instead of getting harmful skin treatments and surgeries, I recommend that you find a great Dermatologist and look into getting Chemical Peels twice a month. The Chemical Peels are a few steps up from the normal routine of facial scrub which removes dead skin cells. For your daily skin regimen and makeup routine: I find that MOST people slap their foundation on WITHOUT face moisturizer and a primer. When you wear makeup think about getting your nails done at the salon. A good nail technician applies a base to bring out the best in your nail color (face primer), nail color (your foundation) and last a top coat to make your nail color last long (blot powder). The following are steps for a great everyday regimen for flawless skin for Men and Women and Makeup Techniques for those who wear makeup. For those who do not want to wear makeup, simply skip those steps. Note: Blot powder, blush and lipgloss is ideal for the woman who wants healthy looking skin without the look of wearing makeup. Step 1: Take a Flaxseed Oil or Fish Oil Pill with water Step 2: Cleanse your face with Facial Cleanser Step 3: Apply an oil, fragrance and alcohol free Face Moisturizer Step 4: Apply Under eye cream Step 5: Apply Face Primer (smoothes skin out for foundation, covers large pores and reduce fine lines) Step 6: Apply Foundation Step 7: Apply Concealer to hide dark circles and or acne scars or blemishes Step 8: Apply Blot Powder (seals in your makeup to avoid shine and helps your makeup last longer) Step 9: Apply Eyeshadow Step 10: Apply Blush Step 11: Apply lipstick or lipgloss While some may be clueless or feel helpless that their skin looks horrible, continue to wear their makeup wrong and eat wrong thinking that this will not affect your skin and health, I say fight for your right to be head to toe and inside and out fabulous! Wow... while all of this sounds great it just seems to be too much. I personally don't wear makeup, but it would be nice to wear on those special occasions. Is there not a makeup that has all of those things in one? I just can't imagine having to go through 11 steps to apply makeup. It's already alot if you include doing your hair and if you have kids there hair and clothes etc... geesh! Is there any easy quick resolutions??????? HELP!!
shantell- Do Steps 1-4 and apply blot powder and lipgloss. Trust me, it doesn't take long and you will surely benifit in the end.
I just started to wear make up and was told by a make up artist that you have to crawl before you walk. What she suggested is that I start out with eyeliner, mascara and lipgloss. I have oily senstive skin and I'm still afraid of putting powder (foundation) on my face for fear of breaking out. After applying those three simple things, I noticed an enhancement in my features...especially in my eyes and not to mention I looked real "adult like!"
As usual, you have some really good tips Leslie and hopefully I'll graduate real soon from my three little applications.
Great post! I'll have to pick up some blot powder.
