How dare Marchesa label it’s Spring 2009 Collection, Ready-To-Wear? Not since my favorite designers, Oscar, Givenchy and Dolce & Gabbana have I seen such beautifully crafted pieces. They are every bit of fine couture investment pieces. Garments that you hand down to worthy like minded family members that will appreciate such an impeccable garment.
What intrigued me to Iearn more about who I now know is Marchesa is that every time I saw a gown that blew me away I assumed it was an Oscar or Givenchy. To my surprise when asked those famous words…so what designer are you wearing, I would always find myself in awe when they answered, Marchesa. Although I have been unknowingly admiring their work for a few years now, what made me fall in love was the gorgeous gold evening gown that fiercely draped Jennifer Lopez at the 2009 Golden Globe Awards. Marchesa is surprisingly ran by two British born fierce women who obviously know glamour. You can find Marchesa at Neiman and Bergdorf. 1. - 2.
