This upcoming Monday, August 23, 2010, the Northern Colorado Homeschool Association (NCHA) will be holding their first group planning meeting of the 2010-11 school year. While not a general "how to homeschool" type of meeting, parents who are new to homeschooling or who are looking for local resources may want to attend and see if NCHA is something they will want to join. The meeting will take place from 6:30 - 8:45 p.m. at the Council Tree Library in Fort Collins.
I plan to be there and would enjoy meeting and talking with other local parents who are considering this manner of educating their children. While our family had been hoping to make public school work for our fifth grader this year, circumstances are making that option look less and less favorable. I am extremely interested in talking with other parents of gifted children in late elementary to middle school who might want to form a homeschooling cooperative.
