Haunted Texas caves near Austin offer unique experiences for ghost hunters

Longhorn Cavern State Park features Longhorn Cavern, a Texas natural wonder created over thousands of years by the dissolving and cutting action of water on the limestone bedrock of the area. Fossil remains show that many Ice Age animals once occupied the caves.
Additional records indicate that the Comanche tribe used the caves long before settlers arrived.  In even more recent history, the cavern was used as a Confederate stronghold where gunpowder was manufactured in secret during the Civil War. The cavern is also rumored to have been the hideout of Sam Bass, a legendary Texas outlaw. In the 1920s, it was a well-hidden speakeasy and dance hall during the dark days of Prohibition.
Longhorn Cavern State Park, located in the Texas Hill Country, is now offering “Paranormal Tours” on the last Saturday night of each month. The tours are conducted by Amanda Foster, founder/director of Austin Paranormal Group. Austin Paranormal Group has done two extensive investigations of Longhorn Cavern, with documented and fascinating results. Because of their professionalism and high standards, Austin Paranormal Group was asked to take on the responsibility of conducting investigations for both amateur and professional ghost hunters. Paranormal Tours can be tailored to the level of experience of the investigators.
According to Ms. Foster, “There are many ghost stories connected to this eerie place. Our experiences here have been amazing! Personal experiences and other first-hand accounts include tales of poltergeist activity, voices, visitors being touched, hearing children’s laughter when there are no children present, and even seeing full body apparitions.”
EVIDENCE INCLUDES EVPs AND VIDEO
Austin Paranormal has completed two investigations at the cavern. During the first investigation, their experiences ranged from cold breezes where no drafts or openings existed, hearing taps on the walls, and even spirits throwing rocks upon request! The team also experienced multiple battery failures and camera malfunctions. Investigators were touched and they heard voices of adults and children alike when they knew that the site was closed to visitors and they were the only (living) people present. Some impressive EVP results from the first investigation are available at this link:  http://www.austinparanormal.com/Investigations01.html. They include a whistle, clear words, and apparent responses to questions. There is also an interesting video shot during the investigation.
The second investigation concentrated on the Visitors Center/Gift Shop, the museum, and a few other smaller buildings. Staff members have reported strange events associated with all of these locations as well, again including odd noises, cold spots, apparitions, children’s laughter, and feelings of being watched. There’s a “lady in white” that has been spotted both above and below ground. Other reports are of strange bumps, taps, whispered conversations, and figures of Native Americans – perhaps the Comanche returning to their sacred caves.
Ms. Foster reports that the second investigation was as lively as the first, with numerous personal experiences. The team heard children laughing and singing in the Observation Tower, taps in response to questions in the museum, and even the sounds of furniture moving on its own in the Visitors Center. Looks very similar to those "space worms" we always hear about. Both topics are fairly unknown overall, but I don't think it's outside of the realm of possibility to find a possible connection between the two phenomenons.

What you see in the pic is a reflective particle of rock that has shined of the either the crystalized or flat side of the stone with the cameras ISO set to high in a low lit area. We investigate several places and are one of the oldest groups on meetup.com with some very seasoned investigators. I can be reached at resist458@yahoo.com...for further discussion...thanks

Did not mean to be rude sorry. I just got offended I worked there in the late 70's and weird thing happened down there. I just get offended when someone denies the activity in that cavern.
