Taking a Chance on Love
There are many things that Las Vegas is known for such as high stakes and big jackpots. While they both have their share of excitement, there is nothing more exciting than a couple who really love each other getting hitched in a city known for people taking their chances. According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, more than 100,000 marriage licenses are issued a year in Clark County, making Las Vegas one of the most popular wedding destinations in the world. Makes sense for a city built on gambling, for marriage is a gamble, even when you have a sure thing. So if you’re ready to take your chances and figure that Las Vegas is the best place to do so, here are some ideas on how to get married in style in Sin City.
Elvis, Drive-Thru and Royal Weddings
Maybe you’re not looking for a traditional wedding and want something that sets you apart from other wedding couples. Getting married by the King is as Vegas as it gets. Say I do to your hunk of burning love with Elvis as your master of ceremony. If there is one thing that Las Vegas has plenty of is Elvis. Another affordable option is the drive-thru wedding, no fuss no muss and all while you have the motor running. A chapel that specializes in this type of ceremony is the Tunnel of Love at the Little White Chapel. Want a wedding fit for a king and queen? Excalibur Las Vegas offers a medieval wedding package. Always dreamt of getting married in Europe but lack the funds to do so? Get married on an Italian gondola or in front of the Eiffel Tower without ever leaving Nevada. For couples who love the outdoors, there is the Valley of Fire wedding ceremony where you can get married surrounded by the majestic desert landscape; you can even get a helicopter limo.
Adding flair to the traditional wedding
For couples that want to stick to the more traditional wedding ceremony, Las Vegas is filled with chapels that perform religious and civil ceremonies. Whether you are Catholic, Jewish or any other religion, Las Vegas can still accommodate you and provide you with the dream wedding you are looking for. You have a wide variety of locations to pick from whether it is a hotel on the strip or a small chapel away from all the neon lights. Many of the big hotels, such as the MGM Grand, have a chapel on premises and offer reception packages that follow the ceremony itself. Packages vary by price and are often very appealing for a young couple that is just starting out. Some can include all the extras such as flowers, food and transportation, making Las Vegas a convenient option. There is one thing you need before any ceremony can be performed: a marriage license. Marriage licenses are issued at the County Clerk Office, 7 days a week from 8am to midnight and there is no waiting period or blood test needed.
So no matter your religion or budget, Las Vegas can cater to your every desire. No wonder so many couples take a chance on each other in the city known for risks.
