The effect of German band, Tokio Hotel can be felt throughout Europe these days. While the band is busy with their European tour, back home in Germany fans have waited for days in the cold for good seats to their concerts and tickets for Germany's only radio awards, the Rainbow Awards (Regenbogen Awards) are sold out largely because of Tokio Hotel, according to Radioszene.

Haiti Relief

Radio Regenbogen exec, Klaus Schunk attributes the sell out to the star power of German celebrities like Tokio Hotel and Marius Müller-Westernhagen. According to Schunk,

With an all-star line-up from Tokio Hotel to Westerhagen the tickets sold out rapidly. This is particularly gratifying to us, because 40 euros (over $50) from every ticket sale will be donated to “UNICEF Kinderstadt 2010 (UNICEF Children's City 2010) to help the victims of Haiti's earthquake.

    Hey Buff,

I've got to ask you again: would you PLEASE clarify WHAT the Rainbow Awards are actually about, when/where/how they were started, so that we have a good background about the actual meaning of the Award Organization?

    Cheers.

I'll make a deal with you. I'll contact the radio station to see why these awards are more important than "just" being the only radio awards in Germany. When I know, I'll write a story about it. Cheers back. ;)
