Georgia Bulldogs 57, Wofford Terriers 60
It went down to the final buzzer, but the Georgia Bulldogs (1-1) were unable to top the Wofford Terriers (1-1).
With only 1:08 remaining, the Hoop Dogs were down by five. With only 18-seconds left, sophomore guard Travis Leslie hit a three-pointer, cutting the deficit to a single basket. But, after regaining possession of the ball after a Wofford five-second violation and sophomore guard Dustin Ware only able to make one free-throw after being fouled, the Hoop Dogs were done scoring for the night. Wofford added two more to their score with free-throws and, after Ware missed a three-point shot at the buzzer, the night ended with a Georgia loss, 57-60.
“It was a hard fought game,” said Georgia head coach Mark Fox on www.georgiadogs.com. “You have to give Wofford credit. We made a lot of mental errors early that we have not made in practice. We have to be mature enough and gain some experience so that we can relax and stay connected mentally to do what we are trying to do.”
Next up for Mark Fox and the Hoop Dogs: The first road game of the Mark Fox era. Georgia is scheduled to tip-off v. UAB in Birmingham on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 8:00 p.m. (EST). The game will be available on the CSS Network, and fans can also listen to the game on the Georgia Bulldogs Radio Network.
