Since the topic this week has been finding your first cache, this is one that may fit in with the optimal "first find." Owned by Trailguider, it is located just off a paved walking path in the northwest quadrant of Calgary. There are multiple access routes, but the quickest way is to park up at the Costco right beside the gate opening to the northeast. There is a very steep incline that is a bit slippery because of all the recent snow and rain.
Head down toward the paved path and your cache is not too far away. Contents of the cache as of mid-week were: pencils, pencil sharpener and log book, shell necklace in plastic bag, smiley face eraser, fuzzy butterfly, 3 Calgary pins and girl’s pink belt.
Be careful of muggle activity as there is a whole lot of construction going on in this area.
Other great caches to pick up while you’re in the area are:
• I Can See For Miles (micro) GC14FZ5 by Strider's Ride
• Sherwood Lookout (micro) GC1VG6V by TrailGuider
• Beacon Hill Shops (micro) GC1VG7H by TrailGuider
• and most recently dropped SHCFJATSDOTP CCARW10 (small) GC274F2 by Grey Wolfe and GeoDreamCacher
Watch for high muggle traffic on this last one, as well.
After collecting your caches, why not have a bubble tea at Kim Lan? The cantaloupe comes highly recommended.
Happy caching this weekend!
