The cornucopia has long been a symbol of gratitude.
Gen Y is a common topic of discussion these days—on blogs, in the media and especially in corporate America. There are a lot of stereotypes, some good and some bad, but a resounding one you’ll hear over and over—Gen Y is ungrateful.
A Google search of Gen Y and ungrateful will yield nearly 80,000 results. That’s a lot of opinions trying to substantiate this belief. Obviously there is a reason the stereotype has been formed and perpetuated, but many Gen Y’rs are clearly not cut from that mold.
Enter Gen Y Gives Thanks.
Watch for "Gen Y Gives Thanks," an upcoming series in which I, the National Generation Y Examiner, will share the thoughts of Gen Y’rs from all over the United States and Canada. Responses are pouring in already and I can promise you, these are a bunch of immensely grateful 20-somethings.
And, because my high school journalism teacher taught me to always give credit where credit is due, I have to say this idea stems from the Appreciation Revolution, started by Gen Y blogger Samantha Karol. (More details on that later, but definitely check it out).
Be sure to watch for Gen Y Gives Thanks, starting Nov. 1. You just may change your mind about this stereotype.

It's true. Generation Y'rs are very grateful and thoughtful. Because I have several of them in my life, I can honestly say that I believe they are the greatest generation ever. . . . except for the one coming up just behind them.
You always write such clever and informative articles. I'll be looking forward to reading and tweeting your series! :)
