Is Generation Y learning to hang on to jobs because of the economy?

Recently the Dallas Morning News reported that more and more Millennials, also known as Generation Y, are hanging onto their jobs.  This is news because, on the whole, Generation Y is well known for their unwillingness to stick with a job when faced with employer discipline and job dissatisfaction.

The reason?  The economic situation, John Ansbach, an expert in generational dynamics.

Generation Y may have to opportunity to learn what it means to stick with a job because it is necessary, and not just because everything is roses and rainbows.

As a Gen Y'er myself, this is encouraging news.  For years those of us who have grown up in the "trophy generation" have felt the sting of the entitlement our generation feels, and resent being associated with a generation that would take flight before fight.
