Funny man Gen Xer Stephen Colbert was on a roll last night on the Colbert Report. Most people know that Colbert "plays" a conservative television pundit on his comedy show, and does so sarcastically.
Stephen Colbert took on the topic of President Obama choosing not to attend the annual Boy Scouts Jamboree, and did so in his typically sarcastically amusing way. President Obama, who did make time to be on the TV show The View this morning, has not said why he chose not to attend the Boy Scouts Jamboree. His reps have said he was too busy to attend.
The Boy Scouts of America have a proud tradition, however they are not without controversy. The Boy Scouts leadership has maintained a stance against allowing any openly gay scouts or scout leaders. This is believed by many, including President Obama, to be outright discrimination. It's possible that this is why President Obama chose not to attend the annual celebration.
Though it is a touchy subject, Stephen Colbert deals with it with a typical Gen X attitude, and pulls it off well. The 3 1/2 minute video is below. Watch it and let me know what you think of it and the topic of President Obama not attending the Boy Scouts Jamboree.

I've heard that no other president went to the Boy Scout event either. Why complain about this one? It isn't quite as politically correct a group these days...try being gay or a nonbeliever.
