Drugs have taken the life of yet another member of Generation X. Actor Corey Haim, age 38 died of an apparent drug overdose in Burbank, California early this morning. His mother was with him at the time of his death at around 2:15 am. Prescription pill bottles were found at the scene.

Haim was one of the two Corey’s who were at one time best friends and very popular in the 1980’s. Corey Feldman and Corey Haim starred together in "The Lost Boys". He also starred in "Lucas", "First Born", "License to Drive" and "Dream a Little Dream". Haim, who was born in Toronto, Canada, had battled drug addiction for many years.

Corey Haim, who once seriously dated Victoria Beckham, was a teen heartthrob in the 1980’s. He spoke about having to go to drug rehab saying, "I started on the downers which were a hell of a lot better than the uppers because I was a nervous wreck. But one led to two, two led to four, four led to eight, until at the end it was about 85 a day — the doctors could not believe I was taking that much. And that was just the Valium — I’m not talking about the other pills I went through".

Haim and Corey Feldman spent 2 seasons on A&E doing a reality show called The Two Coreys. Corey Haim even went as far as putting an ad in Variety stating that he was back and ready to work. The show ended because Corey Feldman did not want to work with Haim until he got clean and sober. That never happened.

In memory of Corey Haim, a slideshow of his pictures can be seen below.  Also, Corey Haim had just finished filming a movie called "American Sunset", you can see the movie trailer below.

It's so sad. What on earth happened to the stars from the 80s that made so many of them addicted to drugs and alcohol?

Another one goes because of drugs... so sad to see him go so young. I wrote an article on him too on my Celebrity Headlines column... I loved both Coreys in The Lost Boys, they were hilarious, it was a great movie!

Just because it's Corey Haim people are automatically assuming it's a drug OD. He wasn't on the floor surrounded by empty pill bottles or anything--he collapsed in front of him mom! There have been reports that he was suffering from cold or flu-like symptoms and difficulty breathing over the past few days, but no one is saying it's anything but a drug OD. No one will know until the autopsy and toxicology report comes back and until then no one has any business reporting that he died of a drug OD.

Ledger, Murphy and now (possibly) Haim all dead of prescription drug overdoses...is anyone else disturbed by this pattern? Not even mentioning Michael Jackson, except he wasn't legally prescribed the drug. And Elle, even if it was caused by prescription drugs, it's still a drug overdose. I guess we'll just have to see.
