Dick Eastman, author of Eastman's Online Genealogy Newsletter, recently announced that he would be reviewing five genealogy programs available for the iPhone and iPod Touch in the next few weeks.
He has already reviewed Shrub, an easy to install, easy to use program that will read any GEDCOM file that you have supplied. Read his take on the program here.
In the next few weeks, he will be reviewing FamViewer by Aster Softwar, GedView by David Knight, Reunion by Leister Productions and MobileFamilyTree by Synium Software. These programs sell for $3.99 to $14.99 and make researching portable and convenient.
Mr. Eastman points out that it is important to compare the programs as some will only work with corresponding desktop programs. Some have multiple language abilities and more features. If you are considering purchasing a Genealogy program for an iPhone or iPod Touch, you will want to read these reviews.
Mr. Eastman says, "All of the iPhone and iPod Touch programs mentioned here can be downloaded and installed within seconds by visiting the App Store on your handheld device." How easy is that?
