No kidding, $30 rooms! Springtime savings abound in PV.
Psst. Don’t tell anybody, but spring is the best time to visit Puerto Vallarta, Mexico’s most popular gay destination. Why? April, May and June are considered Puerto Vallarta’s low season, which not only means fewer tourists to contend with, but also that you’ll spend far less on hotels than you would during high season in the middle of winter.
Some examples: From April 1 through November 22, you can get a room at the budget Boana Torre-Malibu condo hotel for as little as $30. From April 1 to June 30, you will only pay $55 for a room in the Vallarta Cora hotel. A room at the Hotel Mercurio will only set you back just $57 a night if you travel between April 16 and June 30. Be sure to check out the Web sites of other hotels for specials that are often offered in the off-season. Start with the site www.gayguidevallarta.com for a good list of properties. No doubt that we will see some amazing deals this year. There are also some great deals out there on airfares.
What’s more, with temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s, and rainy season still a few months away, springtime is the perfect time to visit PV.
You will enjoy extra savings once you get to Puerto Vallarta. The exchange rate is very favorable to Americans now. Over the summer, you would be lucky to get 10 pesos per dollar. Now you will get more than 14 pesos for that same dollar!
And if you can travel after April, you also won't have to wait for a table in a restaurant and many offer specials that you won't get in the high-season.
