AFA says Pepsi sponsors homosexual agenda on "The Family Guy"

Another “action alert” has just come out from the American Family Association (AFA) regarding Pepsi and the FOX Network.  Many people wonder why I waste my time signing up for the agenda “action items”, and this particular action item is a good time to explain.  I believe it’s imperative that we know our enemies.

With this particular action item Donald Wildmon, founder and chairman of the American Family Association, opined “Pepsi and FOX network joined hands to bring a perverted and sickening episode of TV’s Family Guy into the homes of millions of Americans. This episode was rated TV-14 DLSV by FOX, meaning that in the network’s opinion it wasThe Fox Network: The Family Guy appropriate for 14-year olds, an opinion obviously shared by Pepsi. It aired during prime-time.”  Obviously? Interestingly, in the transcripts of “The Family Guy” given by Mr. Wildmon, there’s no mention of the word “Pepsi” anywhere in the show.  I wonder if Pepsi just happened to be one of the 24 other advertisers of the show when it aired, or if Pepsi bought all advertising rights during the entire broadcast?  I also find it curious why the other advertisers aren’t being boycotted for choosing to advertise during this television show?  Why Pepsi?

  • Pepsi gave a total of $1,000,000 to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) to promote the homosexual lifestyle in the workplace.  “To promote the homosexual lifestyle in the workplace”.  Not exactly Don.  I don’t think Pepsi gave the money to HRC to promote anything.  See, HRC is an organization aimed at the protection of Human Rights.  While they’re most vocal about gay rights at the moment, they actually focus on a wide range of abuses in the system.  HRC actually handles much bigger issues than issues within “the workplace”.
  • Both HRC and PFLAG supported efforts in California to defeat Proposition 8 which defined marriage as being between a man and a woman. HRC, which received $500,000 from Pepsi, gave $2.3 million to defeat Proposition 8.  “$500,000” Don, Don, Don.  Where’s your editor?  Was it a cool mil Pepsi gave HRC or $500k?  Either way, $2.3 million was money well spent to fight bigotry and intolerance.
  • Pepsi requires employees to attend sexual orientation and gender diversity training where the employees are taught to accept homosexuality. “Where employees are taught to accept homosexuality”.  Sexual orientation and gender diversity training is about “accepting” homosexuality, Don.  It’s about appropriate workplace conduct.  It’s about not dropping the “F-bomb” on your co-worker because his husband’s name is Bob.  It’s about respect.  You can have dignity and respect for ANY human being without “accepting” them, Don.  Should we also penalize Pepsi for teaching, in these same “sexual orientation and gender diversity trainings” (which also include racial diversity and “differently abled” diversity), that people in wheelchairs are okay too?
  • Pepsi is a member of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.  REALLY?  I MUST stop drinking Coke.

The benefit of signing up for the AFA Action alerts is they do the hard work for you.  The emails provide you the contact information to get in touch with, by any means necessary, the company they despise and voice your disapproval.  I, personally, use these same contact links to send an email thanking the companies for their position on supporting equality.  I’m also, always, sure to mention that the AFA sent me.

I'm not really that suprised by this. The AFA has boycotted Ford and Disney because they allegedly support the "homosexual agenda." This was also the same group that tried to get Mighty Mouse cancelled in the 1980s because of the episode where Mighty Mouse allegedly was promoting cocaine use by sniffing a flower a few seconds too long.
