Buck's activism started shortly after college when he became involved with the Gay and Lesbian Pride Movement in South Carolina. During that time he worked for Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign and was elected to the South Carolina Democratic Party Executive Committee. Since moving to Tucson, Arizona, he has worked with Marriage Equality USA and co-founded Rainbow Foot Soldiers a grassroots LGBT activist support organization.
