Easter weekend is full of many holy traditions, but it has also become well known in Southern California for the tradition of the White Party, which is maybe not so holy. This annual springtime congregation of gay men in the desert of Palm Springs is celebrating its twentieth anniversary this weekend with a non-stop high-energy party.
The White Party always seems to attract top DJs and musical talent. This year is no exception. The long list of DJs who will be spinning at the various White Party festivities includes big names like Manny Lehman, Kimberly S., Brett Henrichsen, Chi Chi LaRue, Joe Gauthreaux, Ana Paula and Andy Bell of Erasure fame.
The big draw at The White Party though will probably be Lady Gaga who is currently on top of the charts with her hits "Just Dance" and "Poker Face." Other performers during the White Party weekend include Niki Harris, Kat De Luna, Candis Cayne and Flava.
The White Party weekend encompasses numerous events held at several venues around Palm Springs:
- The Manhunt Benefit for Desert AIDS Project on Thursday, April 9 at the Palm Springs Mountainside Estate
- The White Party Welcome Party on Thursday, April 9 at the Oasis Nightclub & Lounge
- The Spring Break Pool Party on Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11 at the Wyndham Hotel Pool
- The Boxers of Briefs Underwear Party on Friday, April 10
- The White Party on Saturday, April 11 at the Palm Springs Convention Center
- Climax After the White Party on Saturday, April 11 in the Wyndham Grand Ballroom
- The Sunday Pool Party on Sunday, April 12 at the Wyndham Hotel Pool
- The Under the Sea Tea Dance on Sunday, April 12 at the White Party Park

Hey man, did you actually go to the party and hear her talk about being bisexual? Just wondering because of the reports that I wrote about in the Bisexuality Examiner?
Mike, I can't seem to find your column. Can you post a link? I'd love to read it.
Thanks Erik for your great articles that just coincidentally are all about gays.
