Kevin Bourassa has written and lectured for audiences in Canada, the United States and Europe. He co-wrote the critically acclaimed book, Just Married: Gay Marriage and the Expansion of Human Rights with spouse Joe Varnell. The couple founded equalmarriage.ca to document their experience in becoming the world's first legally recognized gay marriage. Bourassa has been called a "legal pioneer" by The Toronto Star and a "domestic terrorist" by the Concerned Women For America.
