University of South Florida hosts a three part bee workshop series

If you live in the Tampa Bay area, and have ever wanted to know how to set up your own bee hive, you will definitely want to attend the USF Botanical Gardens Bee Workshop series.

The Series is being conducted in three parts:

Part 1 on August 15 will discuss Construction and have a demonstration of a bee hive.

Part 2 on September 12 will teach you how to extract honey from your hive

Part 3 on September 26 will teach you how to maintain your bee have, and how to identify and deal with Africanized Honey Bees

The cost of the series is $10 or $8 for USFBG members. For more information, call Laurie Walker at (813) 974-2329

While you're there, take the time to explore the gardens' natural area and plant collections, which include over 3,000 taxa of plants, in natural habitats that show the biodiversity of the area.
