Windows 7 OEM looks pretty affordable.
If you haven’t been to Newegg before, you probably should. Ok, enough with the plugging, let’s get right to the details.
Newegg has released how much Windows 7 will cost in OEM form. For those who don’t know, OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer, basically making it a form of outsourcing. In other words, you can get something for cheaper. And in the world of operating systems, cheap is good.
So what are the prices?
Well, a copy of Windows 7 OEM can be purchased at $99.99 with a ten dollar discount which is a far cry from the retail price of $199. That’s golden. The price there is for Home Premium while OEM Professional will run you $134.99 and Windows 7 Ultimate will cost $174.99 after a pre-order rebate.
Very affordable and saving money is never a bad thing. The drawback however is that these are OEM operating systems meaning that you can’t upgrade and you can’t move the license to other computers. Basically, you’re stuck with what you buy.
So be sure that saving money means that much to you. Hope everyone has October 22nd circled on their calendar.
