Android is definitely branching out quite a bit.
The cell phone news never stops.
A few days ago there was the announcement that HTC was bringing their Touch Pro2 stateside through T-Mobile and yesterday, photos of what appear to be a Nokia phone called the N97 Mini made an appearance. Today, there is yet another rumored phone that is corroborated with pictures.
It appears as though Verizon might be getting a phone from Motorola called the ‘Sholes’ that will be supported by Google’s Android operating system. The news itself comes from a Russian site called motofan, you can find it here, and it apparently lists some of the specifications of a phone that is rumored to debut in October.
The specifications list it featuring: a 5-megapixel autofocus camera, 512 MB of storage, 256 MB of RAM, a 3.7 inch, 480x854, touch-screen, GPS, 3G, Bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-Fi support as well as support for MicroSD/Micro SDHC for up to 16 GB with an 8 GB MicroSD included when shipped. It also will support CDMA and EVDO Rev A.
No word on the price yet but just from observation, the Sholes doesn’t look too shabby.
If it exists.
So check out the photos. It looks like it could be one of the cooler looking Android phones and it could also bring Motorola back into the game.
