Sony used company alias to file PS3 Slim with FCC

Look for Slim versions of the PS3 very soon.

Sony thought they were being sneaky. However, the tech world caught on to them today and it is being reported that they filed the PS3 Slim with the FCC under a ridiculous company name:

Sand Dollar Enterprise Inc.

Doing little to cover their tracks, sleuths tracked down the address to Foster City, CA and found that the company is indeed registered to Sony. So, basically they tried to hide the PS3 Slim from the tech world and apparently thought they were safe.

The filing with the FCC includes a 250GB model according to PS3 News via Engadget and yes, via Gizmodo, and it also includes another model on top of the 120GB and 250GB, that being the 150GB model.

You’d have to think with the amount of rumors and detective work that surrounds unreleased products; a lot of companies have been doing this, and hopefully they have just as creative names for their companies.

Apple anyone?

Anyways, this is really good news for people hoping to get their hands on a PS3 Slim in the future even though there has been no word on any sort of pricing on the two other models. So, now that Sony’s ruse has been uncovered, look for more substantial news regarding the other PS3 Slim models to emerge over the coming weeks.
