Round and round the Nook carousel goes.
It seems as though Barnes and Noble has quite a catastrophe on their hands, right in the midst of the holiday shopping season too. Their new, highly anticipated and Google Android powered Nook e-reader’s shipping date for backorders has been pushed back…
All the way until January 11th.
The problem here is that the delay also affects people who pre-ordered it way back when it was announced. Those of you who did that might not even get a Nook before December 25th. It’s completely up in the air at this point.
So, now is the time to start going into panic mode if you are one of these people.
Of course, there is a chance it will come before that and everything will work itself out. But if you are trying to get a hold of one of these right now, the soonest you’ll see it is January 11th.
One last thing.
Select stores will be getting Nook’s on December 7th, so you might want to check in with your closest Barnes and Noble about that. Or try to wait in line or something. It’s probably futile at this point.
This is definitely a confusing merry-go-round of events, albeit a bit confusing I’m sure.

Looking at the press release, I'm fairly certain I covered everything. It IS shipping soon, for people who ordered really early, but anyone who orders now, won't get it until the 11th.

As far as I know, those who did pre-order them in the first week of November or earlier will be getting them the week OF december 7th. Limited supplies of nookes to be sold at stores will be small because BN is trying to fulfill the overwhelming pre-orders before anything else. So early pre-orders need not to worry.
