Nokia announced plans today to add two new entry level phones to the increasingly crowded cell phone market.
The two new phones, the 6700 and the 7230 are 3G slider phones that will be launching in early 2010, with no word on an official release date for either phone. Let’s take a quick rundown of the features on the phones.
The 6700 is going to be powered by Symbian and not Maemo which runs on Nokia’s newly released flagship phone, the N900. It will however feature a 5 megapixel camera with duel LED flash, HSDPA/HSUPA connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, an FM radio and microSD expansion slot and a kind of dull 2.2 inch QVGA display.
Oh, and it will also come in array of colors which are shown in the picture right here.
The Nokia 7230 will also be running Symbian and will feature a 3.2 megapixel camera, FM radio, Bluetooth, microSD expansion lot and a 2.4 QVGA screen.
Now these obviously aren’t completely overwhelming phones, however, they are affordable. The 6700 is going to run you $239 and the 7230 is going to cost a mere $149. It’s going to be hard a hard sell here for Nokia with such a crowded market.
