There is some good news and some great news for Motorola Droid owners. The good news is that you may have heard that the Motorola Droid is set to get an Android makeover, of the 2.1 flavor.
Awesome, right?
Well, the great news is even better.
Motorola, via their Facebook account, has announced that that update will start this week, bringing Android 2.1 and multitouch browsing to the Droid. Oh, what’s that? You missed the leaked features? Well, go check them out here.
Obviously, aside from the overall 2.1 overhaul, the multitouch browsing is really the thing to get most excited about. It also means that the Droid is inching closer to being on par with Google’s Nexus One, minus the Flash.
If you’re interested, here’s what Motorola had to say:
Hi all-- we know you are frustrated with the lack of details regarding Android software upgrades and we sincerely apologize for not being able to share info sooner. We're happy to relay the 2.1 upgrade to DROID will start to roll out this week, and we will have more information to share on other device upgrades later ...this week as well. Thanks for your patience and continued support.
Other device updates, huh?
Interesting.
