The moment has arrived ladies and gentlemen.
After a gigantic ad campaign that hoped to lure in tons of customers with the Droid and Droid Eris’ Android operating system and impressive features, the phones are now available in stores and online as of today.
The Motorola Droid looks to compete with Apple’s iPhone which might be easier said than done while the Eris is a step below the other Droid but still packs a punch and possibly could be a better purchase than the HTC Hero.
Having lots of choices is never a bad thing, and plus it’s on Verizon and not T-Mobile or AT&T and that’s worth a look alone especially considering T-Mobile’s nationwide outage this week.
Stock levels of the phones are apparently through the roof so picking one of these bad boys up should not be a problem if you’re been waiting for this day for awhile and had no pre-order.
Don’t forget though, Apple may be cooking something up for the holidays, an iPhone 3GS drop to $99 to compete with Droid, but that’s obviously just pure speculation at this point.
So, now that the Droid and Eris are out, any thoughts from you buyers out there?

Still gonna stick with my iPhone 3gs
Hubs is getting the Droid, and I'm going with the Eris as soon as our current contract allows us new phones next month. It's going to be hard to wait, but I'll do my best. I've been waiting a long time for a phone like this that is NOT on AT&T's crap network. Honestly, Apple, I probably would have forked out $400 to get the first iPhone if it hadn't been with AT&T. What's the point of having all those features if your reception is spotty and slow??
Definitely the DROID ERIS! Just went in the store and the phone is so sleek and easy to use! Cant wait to get it next week! Love Verizon. In fact i think that the Eris is much better than the Motorola Droid, with its slow screen and Cheapish keyboard. Still nice phone though! LOVE ME SOME VERIZON WIRELESS!
I bought the Motorola Droid because of the keyboard. Although I did find the Eris was very easy to use.
Got something to say?
