Google Voice adds one million numbers as launch rumors swirl


Will Google Voice be the next big thing?

With the launch of Google Voice imminent, some staggering information has been released to give it some more buoyancy in the world of mobile communication.

According to a report by Gizmodo, one million more numbers have been reserved with Google Voice’s service provider, Level 3, as we creep closer to its unveiling.

There have been rampant rumors about when it might be released, but this new report shows just how popular Google Voice might become with mobile phone users and in addition, how unpopular it could become with the big service providers out there.

The signs all point to this week for it’s released and it was speculated that it even could have been released today, however its main page has yet to change over the course of the evening.

Gizmodo readers are also reporting that their Grand Central accounts, which is what Google Voice used to be called, have been switched over to Google Voice but have not been able to access it.

For one, the service offers free calling and SMS which is sure to become a hot topic in the months to come. With the popularity of smartphones ever increasing, Google Voice is definitely going to be something to look at for people trying to keep costs down.

And let’s not forget the other features that it offers.

So, you might want to add Google Voice’s homepage to your bookmarks in order to scoop up a number as soon as it’s released.
