This should definitely make future iPad owners in San Francisco happy as Barnes and Noble announced today, that it will be bringing its B&N eReader to Apple’s device that is going to launch on the 3rd of next month.
A Kindle app could surely follow, so don’t fret Kindlers.
The app itself is apparently going to be released around the same time as the iPad although they left out the specifics. It’s also going to be free which is nice and Barnes and Noble also seem to have prepared the application specifically for iPad.
From the B&N Blog:
Designed specifically for the iPad, our new B&N eReader will give our customers access to more than one million eBooks, magazines and newspapers in the Barnes & Noble eBookstore, as well as the existing content in their Barnes & Noble digital library. (That includes eBooks and content customers have downloaded to their nook™ eBook reader.)
That’s a lot of ebooks, magazine and newspapers to read, but at least you’ll be able to attempt to do it from the confines of your iPad huh?
Seriously, I am curious to see how many of these things pop up at Dolores Park this summer. Any guesses?
Pre-orders for the iPad start tomorrow and if you don’t want to do that, find a local SF Apple Store here in preparation for April.
