There have been tons of rumors swirling around about the Apple Tablet today, an absolute ton, but while most of them deal with analysts giving out percentages and what not, there was something a little more substantial and believable that came out of all the nonsense.
Let's recap the events of today first.
From Apple Insider:
As rumors of Apple's forthcoming tablet device pick up steam once again, one Wall Street analyst sees a 50-50 chance of the device being unveiled in January.
From Silicon Valley Times:
Apple is preparing to show off a new, larger mobile device with a higher resolution display in January -- probably a version of the Apple tablet we've been hearing about for months -- according to a plugged-in source in the mobile industry.
From Engadget:
While that rumor is being piled in with the ever-present tablet hubbub, if we were to read between the lines we'd say it sounds more like a higher-resolution iPhone in the style of Google's Nexus one or Motorola's Droid -- both of which are making the iPhone's 320 x 480 screen look a tad archaic.
From Gizmodo:
Also, the source claims that the entire Apple tablet concept is a sick prank by Steve Jobs, and that he literally hasn't stopped laughing for, like, three whole years.
That last bit is obviously a joke, but you can tell that today has been a huge deal in the Tablet world. Well, sadly, that wasn’t all the news, however, the rumor coming from BGR is very, very credible and probably the best of all of them.
They are saying a reliable source has told them that it’s 100% certain Apple has a 7” Tablet and that it will be announced sometime in January. Of course, that goes against the grain of the widely reported 10” model.
The 7-inch model actually seems like the better size to me.
