Well, well, well. This day had to come eventually didn’t it? Only one day before Apple’s big announcement here in San Francisco, the CEO of McGraw-Hill, Harold "Terry" McGraw III, has apparently spilled the beans on Apple’s shadowy product, the tablet.
Mac Rumors got wind of the leak through a news clip from CNBC in which McGraw had this to say:
Yeah, Very exciting. Yes, they'll make their announcement tomorrow on this one. We have worked with Apple for quite a while. And the Tablet is going to be based on the iPhone operating system and so it will be transferable. So what you are going to be able to do now is we have a consortium of e-books. And we have 95% of all our materials that are in e-book format. So now with the tablet you're going to open up the higher education market, the professional market. The tablet is going to be just really terrific.
Thank you Terry.
He made the quip in response as to whether the company’s books would be on the Apple tablet. The most interesting news to garner from this is that it will be running a modified iPhone operating system and not one of the Mac OS X flavor.
He also says it’s terrific, but really, did anyone doubt that it would be?
What he didn’t mention were the other small details. A provider, Verizon maybe? A camera? Or maybe not? Or the appearance of it.
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see tomorrow won’t we San Francisco. Check out the video of it for yourself, it's at about the two minute and fifty second mark.
These are exciting times.
