Overall, the iPad appears to be an awesome device and its debut here in San Francisco today is going to reverberate throughout the entire world.
It’s going to be fast with that 1GHz A4 processor from Apple and it can perform a wide array of functions from e-booking to gaming. Oh and let’s not forget the applications, never forget the applications. But as the smoke dissipates and reality sets in, there are a few grips to have with the iPad that need to be addressed. And BGR seems to share my sentiments on this.
If Steve Jobs and the folks at Apple truly wanted to have made a game changer, there are three things that they would have done. First, the lack of multi-tasking. That feature alone would have made this thing the most desirable device on the planet. It still might be, but that glaring omission is definitely going to turn some people away.
The iPhone doesn’t have it, so you would have thought they would have stepped it up with the iPad.
No dice.
Secondly, the lack of a camera and a front facing one at that. There had been rumors that the device was going to be lacking a camera, but only a few days ago there were reports that it was. The evidence has struck down the latter and we are left with a camera-less iPad.
That’s troublesome, not so much as the multi-tasking issue, but troublesome nonetheless. The iPad is no doubt, going to be a stellar product but these components would have made it pure gold.

Lastly, this thing doesn't fit in your pocket and that is a huge bummer.

In 60 and 90 days, this thing is going to be released to the public and it’s a shame it will be without a camera or multi-tasking.

I've been awaiting this pretty eagerly, but I'm left not really wanting an iPad after the unveiling. My 3 bummers: (1) iPhone OS -- as you say, no multitasking. (2) I can't load my own choices of software. For example, no Firefox is a dealbreaker for me. (3) No flash support. In short it's just TOO Appley, with the "we know best what you should do" stink all over it.
So it did not fulfill your every media-hyped dream (Apple did no hype at all - it was all the media)
Wait until people get to see one then we will see what they think.
I would like to ask the author - if this turns into a big success, will you quit?
Point is iPhone OS already HAS multitasking and people are sick of flash.
