Verizon: Will get updated version of Palm Pre in first quarter of 2010

It's amazing how easy it is to spread a rumor these days. Somebody from Thestreet.com, who probably doesn't like the Palm Pre, spread a rumor last week that Verizon was reconsidering carrying the Pre because of low sales. The rumor soon became "fact" when spread to several legit websites. We can confidently tell you that Verizon will be carrying the Palm Pre the first quarter of 2010.

There is a twist to this as well. Verizon may be carrying an updated version of the Pre: one that has more memory (or a micro-sd slot), has a slightly bigger screen, and one that fixes the screen bleed problem.

Perhaps the person at Thestreet.com who spread the rumor was an iPhone fanboy. Nothing would surprise us these days.

While I believe that Verizon will be getting the Pre (as boygeniusreport has indicated), where did you get your source of information regarding an updated palm pre (ie: bigger screen, more memory, etc)? Please share, otherwise this too will be regarded as hearsay.

Obviously this is just another rumor if this person cannot supply their source. Granted, I'd love to see an updated version of the Palm Pre that is more powerful and sweeps the iphone completely, however your rumors are no different from the street's report regarding Verizon not carrying the pre.
