Palm Pre Plus

Even though Palm's stock looked bad, Verizon still accepted the Palm Pre Plus and promoted it through various commercials. An inside source at Verizon now tells us that Verizon will end all promotion for the device at the end of the month.
"In a way, it really isn't fair to Palm," our source says. "People would come in and look at the Palm Pre Plus, but our Verizon salespeople would show them the Droid. The Palm Pre really is a nice device."
So, what went wrong? Los Angeles industry analyst Paul Mueller tells us that releasing several defective units on Sprint last year turned customers off. "When a device gets returned, people hear about it. It may not be publicized in the media, but word-of mouth is powerful."

You're source huh Daryl? I am now tracking you for a formal report to the SEC. I wouldn't take this claim lightly.
Palm Pre is a really good phone, but the company made an mistake by 1. proprietary released its pre to Sprint, the smallest network in the nation, 2nd, they have tried to cutoff all the resources of producing hardware instead concentrating on producing software, and 3rd, kept its WebOS proprietary.
Hey Palm, I know most of you got the mentality from formally working at apple, but only Apple can have the skills to do things like that. 2nd any new innovative technologies can be bested by newer technologies shortly down the road. for one, if you didn't cutoff from making hardwares, at least you can still make a device using android OS instead of coming out with a Pixi, 2nd if you at least licensed your WebOS to other hardware vendors instead of keeping it to yourself thinking that you can be like apple, well, your dead wrong. 3rd at least unlock your phones and sold it available to all carriers. If you do survive this round, I would hope all of you learn your lesson!
@ Way
Sprint's network isn't the smallest in the nation.
Palm's biggest misstep was their awful marketing with the scary pale redhead.
@ Means
I Agree that they made a really good phone along with WebOS, but their biggest failure is in Marketing, but wouldn't you agree if they licensed their WebOS to begin with that would make them have an exposure of a broad market and their WebOS might even be able end up in the stores of all carriers?
Keeping things Proprietary is not easy, apple is an exception to that, but also remember that Apple's collective thinking has nearly caused them to failed on their Macs until they came up with the iPod lines that eventually saved them?
I would say that to Palm, if you're not good at marketing like Apple, at least don't keep your stuffs too Proprietary, and you might have garner some market shares!
This has always been the plan.
Here is the proof.

Now that we are in April and see the new Promotion from Verizon that states "Buy a Palm Pre and get Mobile Hotspot Free", we can see that you would do anything to get people to come to your site. Especially LIE!! You are creating negative publicity for a company that needs positive publicity. I seriously hope you are not trying to steer the market by blatanly reporting false information.
