All Under One Roof
This Friday, April 10th from 7pm to 11pm, be a part of an extraordinary opening night at the Tarryn Teresa Gallery. I’m not just promoting this event because it’s free or because the Gallery and I share a name in common. It’s the focus of the show that really grabs me. This collection of ten Los Angeles artists explores and attempts to delineate a new concept of homeland through an eclectic array of artistic mediums.
As an Angeleno with a traveling gypsy heart I’m fascinated with the concept of one’s ‘home’. Is your homeland something you adopt? Are you born into it? Can it be manifold, temporary, forever changing, or does your native land have a permanent hold on you? Each of these artists call LA their home: the city, itself, being a major focus of their work.
All Under One Roof is a work of love by guest curator and Iranian-American arts writer Yasmine Mohseni. Friday night is also the two-year anniversary of the Gallery, so join in this free celebration and begin to explore your own notion of ‘home’ and what it means to be an Angeleno (... other than just 'someone who sits in traffic a lot').
