The Gravesend Inn Haunted Hotel produced by Theatre works is back at the Voorhees Theatre at 186 Jay Street in downtown Brooklyn on October 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30 & 31 and just as creepy as ever. $6 for adults and $4 for students.

 

 Monster Mash Festival at the Brooklyn Children's Museum. Many events and parties, including storytelling, arts & crafts, and Where the Wild Things Are projects. Now through October 31st. Free with museum admission of $7.50.

 

Friday, October 30th

 

Free Family Movie Night at the Moxie Spot restaurant at 81-83 Atlantic Avenue on Friday, October 30th. Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown starts at 6:15 PM and The NIghtmare Before Christmas starts at 6:30-ish.

Ninth Annual Halloween Show, also known as "Duppy Night" at the South Oxford Space in Fort Greene. Friday, October 30th at 6:30 PM and Saturday, October 31st at 3 PM. Games and stories from the Caribbean Cultural Theater. Free.

 

Saturday, October 31st

 

Halloween Party for Tots at Families First on Saturday, October 31st from 9:30 AM until 12:30 PM. Crafts, games, rides, goodie bags and a sing-a-long. $10.

 

Brooklyn Heights Halloween Parade is at 10 AM on Saturday, October 31st on the Promenade. Convene at the Pierrepont Playground. Free.

 

Halloween Cookie Decorating Class at the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture from 10 AM until noon on Saturday, October 31st. Ages 6 to 12. Registration required. Free.

 

Halloween Storytime is at 10:30 AM at the Greenlight Bookstore in Fort Greene. Candy and giveaways too. Free

 

 Halloween Festival at Fort Green Park on Saturday, October 31st beginning at noon. Games, prizes, hayrides and a costume parade. Free.

 

Halloween Pizza Party at Caserta Vecchia at 221 Smith St. in Caroll Gardens from noon until 3 PM. Games, storytelling and  music. $10.

 

Distsrict Dog's 3rd Annual Halloween Parade will be at 1:00 in McGorlick Park in Greenpoint. This year's theme is "Dress Your Name." Show off your doggy's costume. Free.

 

Pumpkin Festival at Cooper Park in Williamsburg will be from 11-1 on Saturday, October 31st (originally scheduled for October 24th). A $5 donation will get you a pumpkin, decorating and arts & crafts. Live music and giant puppets.

Haunted Halloween Carnival at the Puppetry Arts Theater  in Park Slope at PS 372 on Saturday, October 31st from 11:00 Am to 4:00 PM. Free admission with $1 games and $3 bouncy castle among other events.

 

The Halloween Haunted Walk & Carnival is on Saturday, October 31st at Prospect Park, noon to 3:00, rain or shine. Suggested donation is $1.

 

Halloween at the A-scarium is at the New York Aquarium Saturday, October 31st and Sunday, November 1st from noon until 6 PM. Free with Aquarium admission.

 

Habana Halloween Party at the Habana Outpost on Saturday, October 31st from noon until 6 PM. Arts and crafts, costume contest, and rock out with a "Monster Bash Dance Party." Free.

 

The people who live at 313 Clinton Avenue create a Halloween night theater experience every year that has become a "must see" event. This year's title: "Colonel Cadaver's Carnival of Carnage.," Free.

 

BAMboo! is from 4-7 PM in front of BAM on Lafayette Ave. between Asland Place and Felix St. A festival with an underwater theme. Candy giveaways, costume contest, games for kids of all ages.

 

Clinton Hill Halloween Walk from 5 PM until 6:30 PM on Saturday, October 31st. This walk winds around Clinton Hill, inviting your little ones to trick-or-treat through the neighborhood with other local tots. Maps that highlight the most generous residents' homes will be provided. The Society for Clinton Hill.  All ages. Free.

 

Halloween Night Costume Contest on Satuday, October 31st from 4:00 to 5:30 PM in front of John Jay High School in Park Slope. Sponsored by the Park Slope Civic Council. Free, but you must register ahead of time.

 

The  annual Children's Halloween Parade in Park Slope is sponosored by the Park Slope Civic Council. Gather at 7th Ave. & 14th St. Parade starts at 6:30 PM on Saturday, October 31st. This year there is a new parade route! Parade ends at the Old Stone House. Free.

 

Liquid Sound Lounge Halloween Costume Ball featuring The Super Duper Band at the BAMcafé beginning at 9:30 PM. Free

 

Creepy Crawly Halloween at the Audubon Center at Prospect Park. Saturday, October 31st and Sunday, November 1st from 12-5. Free.

 

Halloween at Leffert's Historic House on Saturday, October 31st & Sunday, November 1st. Scary Stories from the Past is at 2:00 & 3:00 PM. Skeleton Cut-outs is at 1:00 & 4:00 PM. Free.

 

Boo at the Zoo is October 31 - November 1 at the Prospect Park Zoo. The animals get Halloween treats (watch baboons devour pumpkins), arts & crafts, face painting and more. Free with zoo admission ($7 for adults & $3 for kids).

 

The Haunted Carousel at Prospect Park on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1 from noon to 5 PM. Spooky music on the Wurlitzer plus spiders and bats. $1.50 per ride.
