The kids may be convinced that there's no such thing as too much candy, but if you're tired of them bouncing off of the walls and you're reeling from all the candy you've swiped from their bags, it may be time to try some of these other uses. You may be surprised to find that these ideas are just as appealing.

Baking & cooking
There are lots of recipes that call for candy, so try adding candy to cookies, brownies, or Rice Krispy Treats. If you're feeling brave, try one of the more creative recipes on CD Kitchen. Small candies also go well in trail mix or as decoration on a gingerbread house.

Artwork
Parents of preschool and kindergarten students are familiar with pictures made of pasta or cereal. Try making art out of candy. Just keep an eye on would-be-snackers while you're working!

Science experiments
There are tons of great science experiments that can be done with candy. Whether you're melting different types of candy in the oven or creating an explosion with Coke and Mentos, you and your child can learn and have fun with these ideas. Check out Science Mom for some other fun ideas.

Send to military overseas
Teach your child the joy of giving by donating your sweets. You can mail your candy (except the chocolate) to Soldier's Angels, a nonprofit organization which sends care packages to troops overseas. The details and addresses are at Halloween Candy for Troops.

Remember that many of these ideas can be used with leftover Valentine's Day or Easter candy, or candy canes at Christmas.
