Liberals like to accuse conservatives of resorting to "hate speech" when it comes to the controversial issues of today, usually because they don't have a valid argument to counter the other side. The irony is that they use the very hate speech they accuse others of employing, but they do so by using what I like to call "politically correct hate speech."
For instance, in the wake of the heinous murder committed against the Wichita, KS. abortionist, Dr. George Tiller, those who support abortion under any and all circumstances have used this tragedy as an excuse to play politics against those who believe in the sanctity of life.
Take for instance the response by Colorado's own late-term abortionist, Dr. Warren Hern in a Denver Post interview when he referred to the pro-life movement as being equivalent to the Islamic Jihad:
"The only difference between the American anti-abortion movement and the Islamic Jihad is about 8,000 miles. It's the same outfit. These folks are fanatics. They talk to God, and they carry guns."
Talk about hyperbole. There's also something eerily familiar with his use of Islam for making his comparison. Just a few years ago, Rosie O'Donnell stated that "radical Christianity" is in the same league as "radical Islam." In both instances, discussing the issue is avoided and the use of politically correct hate speech is employed. Is it a coincidence that Christians were the target in both of these cases? I don't think so.
The liberal media is doing it's part in feeding this frenzy of left-wing bigotry. In the same issue of the Denver Post, they published an interview with the ex-wife of Dr. Tiller's murderer, where she was quoted as saying that Scott Roeder (the accused) reached this murderous state of mind by following a progression of events. It began with joining "anti-government," "anti-tax" groups, followed by finding religion. The clear implication of the story was that if you're opposed to government tax policies and you are religious, you're suspect.
Another example of the liberal media's use of this tragedy comes from none other than NBC. On his show, Keith Olbermann accuses the Fox News Network and Bill O'Reilly, who hosts a show opposite Olbermann in the same time slot, of being directly responsible for the murder of Dr. Tiller. Of course, the fact that Fox News is mopping the floor with NBC, along with Bill O'Reilly holding the number one spot on cable news for over 100 straight months couldn't have anything to do with it, could it?
The murder of Dr. Tiller was a tragic event, and there have already been many statements condemning it from pro-life leaders around the world. As a pro-life person myself, I stand with these leaders as they offer their condolences to the Tiller family and as they unite against this type of violence.
Still, it's important to remember that talking to God, being a Christian, and carrying a gun doesn't make anyone a terrorist, any more than talking to God, being a Muslim and carrying a gun makes you a terrorist. There are people at both extremes who aren't representative of the vast majority of people.
Sadly, liberals are likely to continue using Dr. Tiller's murder as an excuse to spew their left-wing bigotry. But of course, hating people of faith, who believe in the sanctity of life, and maybe own a gun is just the type of politically correct hate speech we have come to expect.

Sadly this awful event is gold for those who are fearful of the gradual turning of public opinion against abortion but I remind people the real essence of the issue remains unchanged like slavery abortion is a gross violation of human rights because it treats a part of the human family as a disposable possession and like slavery it should be resisted and hopefully one day people will vote in enough pro life politicians to turn the ship of state away from the culture of death towards the culture of life.
goodfornoone, the gradual turning you are talking about is non-existent. The poll that shows the 51% who think of themselves as pro-life, also showed 76% still want abortion legal.
...by another name...
"God tells me to kill you because you are wrong and I am right--I am not interested in political solutions--only killing to get my way." It is sad this is said by extremists from multiple religions, but the "Christians" are not labeled domestic terrorists.
If one swears allegiance to the AOG, which advocates illegal violence (We the undersigned, declare the justice of taking all Godly action necessary, including the use of force, to defend innocent human life [born and unborn]. We proclaim that whatever force is legitimate to defend the life of a born child is legitimate to defend the life of an unborn child. We declare and affirm that if in fact Paul Hill did kill or wound abortionist John Britton, and accomplices James Barrett and Mrs. Barrett, his actions are morally justified if they were necessary for the purpose of defending innocent human life) how the heck is this any different from other forms of terrorism?
Call it by its proper name: TERRORISM!
What people want is not always right particularly when they have been manipulated.Germany had legislation depriving Jewish people of their rights as citizens America once had slavery enshrined as a legal right. When people see through the lie of abortion they will begin voting in pro life politicians because people are basically decent. Everyone reading this comment was once a tiny collection of cells in a womb We were allowed to live. The simple truth is that abortion is wrong and you cannot have laws that say the legal killing of a defenceless child does not matter. It is barbaric and uncivilised.Abortion is never a choice It is always a death sentence. The President talks of The Golden Rule which is "Do unto others as you would have them do to you" We were protected by Law and allowed to live should we not want all other tiny babes in the womb to be afforded that same protection?
