Here are some free 4th of July events taking place in the Seattle area for 2009:
The main celebration in Seattle is the Chase Family 4th at Lake Union. Events start at noon and continue throughout the day at Gas Works Park. The massive fireworks display is scheduled to begin around 10pm.
Enjoy the Eastside's largest 4th of July celebration at the Symetra Bellevue Family 4th . A variety of events will take place in the Bellevue Downtown Park including activities for kids, music and a fireworks display.
Those in the north end may want to check out the Fourth of July in Everett celebration which includes the Colors of Freedom Parade, events for kids, music and more. The day concludes with a fireworks show over Port Gardner Bay.
South of Seattle you'll find Tacoma's Freedom Fair along the Rustin Way waterfront. Enjoy several events throughout the day including an air show, car show, a variety of music performances and the grand finale; the fireworks extravaganza over Commencement Bay.
