One of the biggest crooners from the 1950's is still going strong. "Singer Tom Jones is enjoying his musical journey and has no plans to make an exit even as he turns 70 next year.
The Welsh crooning veteran says he is fond of performing and his voice is still strong.
The Daily Express quoted him as saying: “I’ve just got to be pleased that I’ve come this far, you know.
I’m going to be 70 next year, I think it’s great. Some people go ‘Ooh, getting older’ and this, that and the other. I mean, what’s the alternative?
“The older I get… I enjoy what I’ve done and what’s happened through my career, you know, so I’ve got a lot of memories. But I mean my voice is still strong and I love going on stage because I love to sing. Even if I wasn’t a professional singer, I’d be singing anyway because that’s the way it is.” (ANI)
Frank Sinatra had great respect for Tom Jones and they were frequent drinking buddies in the early Las Vegas morning hours. The video is from Jonathan Ross's BBC chat show.
