Chris Brown, an up-and-coming singer, and Rihanna, an established pop star, are young, hip, and were seemingly wildly in love. Last week, an ugly episode of domestic violence occurred leaving Rihanna supposedly battered and bruised and Brown arrested. It would be no surprise to foster parents to learn that this wasn't the first time violence permeated the white-hot relationship. We see far too many children removed from homes where domestic violence is a way of life.
Brown has been quoted as saying that his stepfather beat his mother when he was young and that he "never" wanted to be like that. Unfortunately, the cycle of violence is one that's very difficult to escape from -- once children become a part of it, they begin to see it as a way of life, a tried-and-true method for handling their frustrations. Helping parents find treatment and counseling for violence is a large part of what occurs when the county gets involved in a family situation, aside from placing children elsewhere to ensure they no longer witness violence in their young lives.
Both men and women can be abused, as well as children. In 2006, nearly 15,000 Coloradoans were involved in domestic violence situations. Two children died as a result of these situations. If someone you know is caught in a domestic violence situation, please ask for help immediately. It truly can mean the difference between life and death.

First of all, no one should hit anyone! I don't know where this so called rule that boys shouldn't hit girls comes from but let me be the first to say, that if a guy or girl put their hands on me in any abusive way, I will knock you in the middle of next week & kick your butt on Friday! And by the way, I did not come from an abusive family.
lol! hey Chris i agree wit u . No one should hit anyone , any1 who hits it doesn't matter if u r a girl or a boy i will hit u back , that is the rule "an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth ".

Old News and why keep this in the media?
Foster Care is not always the best answer either. My family was ward of the state of MI, and I witness my sister being abused by her foster parent and the agency did nothing about it. In fact they allowed the woman to adopt my sister, and til this day she is suffering from the trauma and we're grown now.
Chris u know u are not suppose to put ur hands on a women didn't u learned that in like 2nd grade but sorry is not going to cut it u have to do more then that.
chris brown never done that to rihanna hahaha
