Democrat Senators to Republicans, vote on legislation before it's written

Senator Max Baucus on Capitol Hill Wednesday

Today in the Senate Finance Committee, Democrat Senators decided on a course of action that would leave most ordinary Americans scratching their heads.  Ordinary Americans, you just aren't smart enough to be a Democrat Senator because you probably wouldn't want to vote on a bill that hasn't been written.

That's right, the Senate Finance Committee is going to vote on the "Baucus" plan before it is transferred from a plan to a bill.  As a reminder, the "Baucus" plan that was released was just that - a plan, not formal legislation.

So, your US Senate will be voting on a bill that has not been written, a bill that does not even exist.

The Senate Finance committee, debating the bill right now, is the final committee with authority to propose a health care reform bill - a bill that will amount to a government takeover of health care.  When Republican Senator Jim Bunning of Kentucky offered an amendment to require legislative text to be available for 72 hours before the vote in the Finance Committee, the Democrats on the committee rejected it in a near party-line vote.  Here is a link directly to the proposed amendment.

The Democrat's vote against this amendment has put health care reform at risk again. Senator Olympia Snowe, a moderate Republican from Maine that Team Obama has lobbied hard to support Democrat health care proposals, raised her voice when she said, "I want to know what the final number (cost) is before I vote on any bill in this committee," and that, "This is about doing our jobs. if it takes two more weeks, it takes two more weeks ... What is the rush?"

The rush is that Democrats know that the longer Americans have to read these plans, the more likely the growing opposition to any government health care reform will grow even more vocal and become the defining campaign issue of the 2010 midterm elections.

Senator Snowe is right, none of the Senators on the Finance Committee should be voting on a bill that doesn't exist.  We know that some Senators won't spend 72 hours reading the bill, but those who would like to should be given that opportunity.

Will the Democrats ever learn that shoving down legislation is tough enough and that it's even tougher to shove it down American's throats when the legislation doesn't even exist?

New soap-opera.... Days of the Living Brain-Dead.
Production costs would be minimal; CSPAN has much of it recorded already. Doesn't need writers, because nobody in their right mind could make this stuff up.
Is there no mechanism remaining, to salvage the USA, except the election process?
Inept, or evil, they need to go!

There has to something illegal about this. It seems this would be like hiring an attorney to represent you and him signing contracts for you that he hasn't read or getting you into business deals that you don't want. We hired these people and it's time to fire them. Pelosi, Obama, Reid, and everyone in Washington are employeed by us. If this is allowed to happen then we are no longer a democracty. We will be ruled by the Obama regime.

The President and his cronnies just want a blank check so that they can figure all this out later. Never mind the details!

Why don't we just lift the restriction on insurance companies operating across state lines. That seems the most nonintrustive way of creating "choice" and "competition." If that doesn't correct the problem, then reevaluate the situation.

A message to Democrats: If ANY of you had any doubts about what a single-party government is capable of doing...simply look at what Washington is doing NOW with total Democratic control... (and it's been in-place now for only 3-short years). There is really NO checks and balance within Washington (not that there was too much to begin with) and "We The People" are the only way to deter the passage of legislation that nobody in Washington has even bothered to read (much less comprehend). This is blatant dereliction of duty (to vote on ANYTHING that is an "unknown").

And we taxpayers fund this Washington circus? Folks, (like they say in square dancing), it's time to change partners!!! Stand firm against the Democrats soliciting for your "help" because what's happening currently is just the "tip of the iceberg."

It's time to research what our respective representative have supported and voted against (or even obstained from voting) and get prepared for November's elections.

    America's message must be clear;
    1) Fix our Justice System
    2) Get Government OUT OF EDUCATION !
    3) Secure America's borders, NOW
    4) Get the FBI and BATFE on the same page
    5) Go after Employers hiring illegals
    6) Demand Mexico honor our "COMMON" borders or risk free-trade
    7) Hold countries with whom we trade ACCOUNTABLE for unfair trade tariffs
    8) Healthcare Reform means FIXING what is broken (like Insurance Rates and Tort Reform)...not simply giving Washington a blank check!
    9) The Prison system MUST impose deterrents from its revolving-door offenders (consult Sheriff Arapaio how to accomplish this)
10)Get Government OUT of business and bailouts and impose "Windfall Profit" taxes on businesses whose profit + executive pay exceeds say 30% of gross revenues
11)We should vote Washington's salary increases

Let your voices be heard, write or e-mail your senator and representative and let them know tht you will exercise your right to vote them out if necessary. Stop the USA from becomming the USSA (United Socialist States of America)!

We must pray and take action by getting in touch with our individual represenatives. This is a group of people that have gone insane, but also this is coming to the time that Jesus is soon to appear and take his children home. This is getting out of control.....
